The Cape Prepares For Coastal NorEaster

The Cape and Islands are bracing for a weekend nor'easter that's expected to bring high winds, heavy rain and flooding to the region.

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood watch from this afternoon until Sunday evening.

If travel is necessary, allow for extra time, because some roads may close due to high water.

Motorists should never drive around barriers or through high water.

There's also a high surf advisory through 8 p.m. Sunday, with breaking waves of seven to 13-feet expected in the surf zone.

High wind warnings will be in effect until 2 a.m. Sunday, with possible wind gusts of up to 60-miles-per-hour.
