West Nile Detected In Two Mosquito Samples

Mosquitoes trapped in two areas on Cape Cod are testing positive for West Nile virus.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health says samples collected in both Falmouth and Barnstable have tested positive.

In Falmouth, the mosquitoes were collected near Sider's Pond and in Barnstable, they were collected in Cotuit.

Health officials are reminding residents and visitors to take precautions to reduce their risk of mosquito bites, especially during dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
