The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is holding a Design Public Hearing on the proposed replacement of the Sagamore Bridge this evening.
The hearing at Bourne High School will give residents, businesses, commuters and stakeholders a chance to learn more about the project.
MassDOT will also review the proposed bridge design, project impacts, right-of-way requirements, detours and traffic plans.
Meantime, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to conduct road repairs on the Bourne Bridge beginning tonight.
The work is expected to take place from 9 p.m. until 3 a.m. Friday.
There will be lane closures on northbound and southbound Route 28 with temporary traffic alterations as needed.
At least one lane of travel will be maintained at all times and police will assist with traffic control and safety setups.
