Cape Cod Healthcare is the recipient of a 20-million-dollar donation from John and Cynthia Fish of Osterville.
It's the single largest contribution in the health system's in its history.
The intent of the gift is to improve patient care and the patient experience.
John Fish is chairman and CEO of Suffolk, a Boston-based national contractor.
Cynthia Fish is described as a dedicated philanthropist and volunteer.
Cape Cod Healthcare CEO Michael Lauf called it a "truly transformational gift" to continue providing lifesaving treatment and improve the well-being of everyone on the Cape.
