The 102nd Intelligence Wing will begin training exercises at Joint Base Cape Cod today.
Authorities say the exercise aims to demonstrate combat readiness while sustaining 24-hour operations.
The exercises will continue through Sunday, as airmen practice their ability to operate while responding to base attacks, force protection incidents, casualty scenarios and degraded infrastructure.
Area residents may hear simulated weapons fire, sirens or the installation's public address system related to the training, but officials say there is no need for concern.
