Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois has launched a new program to engage with veterans who become justice-involved.
The Veterans Diversion Program has been developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services to build a pathway that includes accountability, stability and success for those who served.
The program is designed to help veterans with mental health problems, substance use disorders, trauma, housing instability and other issues.
Galibois says the program offers service members the support, treatment and resources they need to overcome challenges, restore stability in their lives, and contribute positively to their families, communities and country.
