Barnstable County has posted an update on the Mill Creek dredging project in Chatham.
The work is moving forward with significant progress being made over the past several days.
Dredging took place through the weekend with crews successfully breaking through the main shoal late Saturday afternoon.
The breakthrough improves the flow of water through the channel, but some sediment may have backfilled into dredged areas and crews will have to address that.
Operations are set to resume this morning, with crews assessing the backfilling, advancing dredging within the channel and managing sand placement and removal.
