West Tisbury Public Library Opens As Shelter

Due to the impact of the blizzard in Dukes County, the West Tisbury Free Public Library remained open overnight and will continue to operate as a shelter today for residents who are without power, have access and functional needs and have a medical necessity.

Residents who need to stay at the Emergency Warming Center should bring their medications and personal comfort items if possible.

The Dukes County Sheriff's Office says it will try to assist with transportation if conditions are safe enough to do so.

Eversource crews are on Island and working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
