Sandwich Animal Control is giving residents a heads-up that a coyote has been spotted around town this week.
The agency captured a photo of the red and white female that officers believe should be caring for pups this time of year.
They're reminding everyone that although the coyote looks a lot like a dog, steer clear of her for safety's sake.
Coyote attacks on people are rare but happen most often in areas where the animals have been fed by humans.
