Charges against a Dukes County Sheriff's sergeant have been dropped.
Craig Daley was charged with domestic assault and rape stemming from an incident last September.
In November, he pleaded not guilty to the charges in Edgartown District Court.
According to the Martha's Vineyard Times defense attorney Robb Moriarty says Mr. Daley is grateful for the diligence of the prosecutors in the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office who came to the conclusion that the continued prosecution of Craig on these "spurious allegations" was not in the interest of justice.
The Dukes County Sheriff's Office says an internal affairs investigation is ongoing.
