Area Communities Move On Waste Water Projects

Several towns on Martha's Vineyard are moving forward on wastewater projects.

The aim is to safeguard drinking water sources, but will come with millions of dollars in costs.

Oak Bluffs is working to reduce nitrogen pollution, which can bring on toxic algae blooms.

Other towns are looking to install alternatives to septic systems, including Tisbury.

Cape Cod was forced to act, following the passage of new septic system regulations by the state Department of Environmental Protection last summer.
