State Rep Proposes Commuter Rail For Cape

State Representative Dylan Fernandes has introduced a bill that would bring commuter rail back to Cape Cod.

The first phase would be establishing a commuter line from Buzzards Bay to Boston.

The CapeFLYER train has been running between Hyannis and Boston during the summertime for the last decade.

Fernandes said the year-round service would relieve congestion on the Cape Cod Canal bridges.

At the same time, the congressional delegation is asking U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg to review a new one-and-a-half-billion-dollar application to replace the twin bridges which are nearly 90 years old.
