USPS Worker Pleads Guilty To Embezzlement

The Enterprise reports a Buzzards Bay postal supervisor has pleaded guilty to a federal embezzlement charge.

Anthony Fernandes of Douglas pleaded guilty to embezzling more than fifty-thousand dollars in government funds.

Prosecutors say Fernandes used his position as a supervisor at the Main Street post office to authorize phony travel expenses in 2022.

He is facing up to ten years in prison.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 10th.
