Sagamore Bridge Work Finishes Early

The Army Corps of Engineers announced on Friday that the work on the Sagamore Bridge has been completed almost a month early and that that all lanes of traffic on the bridge are now open.

The Corps says the maintenance work needed on the steel structure on the bridge was not as extensive than originally thought.

Equipment is now being moved to the Bourne Bridge which is scheduled for maintenance work.

The Bourne will be down to one lane in each direction beginning May 1st for work on the structure and lighting systems.

That project is expected to be complete before Memorial Day.
