Mashpee Offers Wampanoag Language Class To Students

Mashpee middle-high school will begin offering a course on learning the language used by the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe.

School officials say it's a great development of the relationship with the tribe, while allowing the Mashpee Wampanoag to continue to keep their language alive.

The Enterprise reports the program will be made possible by the Wopanaak Language Reclamation Project and will be offered to seventh-graders.
