Excessive Heat Causes Cape Power Outages

The heat and humidity and the need for power for air conditioners took its toll on The Cape with intense heat and humidity and scattered power outages.

It appears that everyone in Brewster and Dennis were without power for a few hours.

In Hyannis, a power pole went down and that caused a brush fire which left 12 customers of Eversource without any juice.

Mashpee and Barnstable were also victims of power outages.

At the Barnstable Airport the high temp was 93 degrees but figuring in the humidity it felt more like it was 103.
