Steamship Authority Will Continue Service Without Interruption

There will be no stoppage of service for the Steamship Authority after receiving 12 million dollars in federal funding that will allow them to remain in business offering service during the pandemic.

The push for additional funding was made before the pandemic began and comes to them after pressure from Congressman Bill Keating to get the Federal Transit Administration to provide the much needed funding after they were designated as a commuter service and that made the Authority eligible under the Cares Act.
