There are fewer Republicans in the state legislature. Plymouth State Senator Vinny DaMacedo is resigning to become the new President at Bridgewater State University.
The Senator met with Senate leadership to map out his resignation. The Senator says that he got tired of commuting everyday from Plymouth to the state house.
He was looking to work closer to home and deal with other challenges.
