Lieutenant Governor Visits Saquatucket Harbor

A ceremony on Tuesday commemorated the renovation of Saquatucket Harbor in Harwich Port.

The eleven-million-dollar project was partially funded by grant money from the state Seaport Economic Council.

Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito, who serves as the council's chair, spoke at the ceremony following a council meeting at Harwich Town Hall at which another one-and-a-half-million dollars in grants were announced for Eastham, Orleans, Wareham and Duxbury.

Improvements to Saquatucket include new docks to increase fishing and boating capacity while improving accessibility and a new harbormaster building.
