The first human case of Triple E this year has been reported by state officials. The state does not name specifics but they do say that the case involves a man over the age of 60 and from Southern Plymouth County. It is the first case in the state since 2013. Meantime the risk level has been raised to critical as a result. Nine communities are now critical: Carver, Lakeville, Marion, Middleborough, Rochester, and Wareham in Plymouth County and Acushnet, Freetown, and New Bedford in Bristol County. Aerial spraying that has been going on will now continue. State Health officials continue to drive home the point that Triple E among humans is quite rare.
