Nomans Island Stocked With Rabbits

An uninhabited island off Martha's Vineyard is the site of a new species control experiment. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Mass Wildlife are involved in the project that recently placed thirteen New England cottontail rabbits on Nomans Land Island. Officials say the species is in decline and the island serves as an ideal location for them to hopefully get their numbers back up. Nomans was previously used as a practice bombing site for the military.
