Rescue Boats Reportedly Had Issues Getting To Paddleboarder

First responders on the Outer Cape might review rescue procedures after a rescue attempt of a paddleboarder on Sunday. David Harmon was found dead about one-hundred yards off Nauset Light Beach. According to a Cape CodTimes report, Coast Guard and Chatham vessels were able to make it through the Nauset Inlet, the only access to the Atlantic Ocean from Provincetown to Chatham, but Orleans and Eastham boats were unable to get through because of low tide. Orleans Fire Chief Tony Pike told the Times it was fortunate that Chatham had the resources available and could respond.
