Tense Situation in Wareham Ends Without Incident

There were some tense moments in Wareham on Wednesday night.

Shortly after 8 o’clock, Wareham officers responded to a home on Tomahawk Drive where a man was reported to be barricaded with multiple weapons. Wareham officers summoned for and received assistance from the Southeast Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and Plymouth County Sheriff’s department. As a precaution, a neighboring house was evacuated by Wareham Police and the Onset Fire Department.

After several hours of negotiations, a male was taken into custody around 3:00 a.m. uninjured and was taken to Tobey Hospital for an evaluation. He was then taken to the police station where he is facing multiple undisclosed charges. A search of the house uncovered a BB gun and a black powder handgun.
