Crews from the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department responded Tuesday afternoon to a report of a storage shed fire on Sheaffer Road in Centerville.
A Barnstable Police Officer was first on the scene and was able to have several vehicles moved to create access to the 10 by 12 foot building.
Upon arrival firefighters found the shed 25 percent involved in fire which was spreading to nearby landscaping......they were also alerted that a large amount of gasoline and propane was stored in the building.
An engine and ladder truck were used to extinguish the blaze and crews salvaged many of the homeowner’s tools and power equipment and prevent the flames from spreading to the flammable liquids stored in the building and removed to the yard without incident.
COMM Fire Prevention Officers investigated the fire and determined the cause was electrical in nature.
There were no injuries reported in the incident.
