4Cs Hosting a Free Presentation on Living with Autism

From Cape Cod Community College:

On Thursday, February 28 from 7-8:30 p.m., Cape Cod Community College will host a free presentation by author and nationally recognized voice in autism education, Dr. Stephen Shore. The speaking event, titled “Success with Autism: Using our Strengths for Achieving a Fulfilling and Productive Life – Just Like Everyone Else” will take place in the Tilden Arts Center on campus, and is part of the Schatzberg Endowed Lecture Series at CCCC.

Dr. Shore is the author of Beyond the Wall: Personal Experiences with Autism and Asperger Syndrome and is a professor of Special Education at Adelphi University. He is a current board member of Autism Speaks and president emeritus of the Asperger’s Association of New England. In addition to working with children and talking about life on the autism spectrum, Dr. Shore is internationally renowned for his presentations, consultations, and writings on lifespan issues related to education, relationships, employment, advocacy, and disclosure.

His presentation is designed to better inform the Cape and Islands’ communities about life with autism, and to provide resources for children and adults on the autism spectrum.
