Wareham PD/Two Arrested After Short High Speed Chase

Wareham/Two Arrested

2/20/19

Wareham Police arrested two men Monday night after their vehicle ran a red light on Cranberry Highway at Depot Street.

The vehicle accelerated, refusing to stop, and made an abrupt U-turn by the Jack Conway Office and drove to the Union Pond Apartments where they sped into the parking lot before stopping and running from the car.

One of the suspects was quickly captured.

A Plymouth county K-9 team came to the scene to assist and the second man was found hiding under a parked car.

35 year old David Savaria of Mashpee and 36 year old Shainah Lopes of East Wareham were arrested.

Savaria was charged with disorderly conduct and had two active warrants for his arrest.

Lopes was charged with failure to stop for police, operating after suspension of his driver’s license and failure to stop at a traffic signal.

They were arraigned Tuesday in Wareham District Court.
