Vineyard General Store Damaged By Fire/Closed For Refurbishing This Summer

Vineyard General Store Damaged By Fire

1/31/19

An iconic general store on Martha's Vineyard is staying closed through this coming summer after a fire caused extensive damage last week.

The owner of Menemsha Market tells the Vineyard Gazette that the store needs to be completely gutted, and that re-opening in the summer doesn't seem realistic.

The fire began last week when a utility pole came down in high winds during a coastal storm.
