Strong opposition from Falmouth residents has prompted the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod to abandon plans for a needle-exchange program on East Falmouth Highway in East Falmouth.
The opposition to the program was because the proposed location on East Falmouth Highway was across the street from St. Anthony’s Church which, among other things, plays host to a number of programs for children.
The group will now work with local officials to find a suitable site.
