U.S. Representative William Keating has won re-election, defeating Republican challenger Peter Tedeschi in the 9th Congressional District race.
The Bourne Democrat had a sizeable lead with just under 40 percent of the precincts reporting. Tedeschi called the Congressman to concede around 10 p.m.
Keating returns to Capital Hill to serve a fourth term in the 9th Congressional District which comprises 46 municipalities from Norwell to Fall River and includes Barnstable County, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.
