Gasoline Prices in MA Drop One Cent This Week

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down one cent this week, according to AAA Northeast.

In its weekly survey of prices in Massachusetts, Triple-A finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.83 per gallon. The Massachusetts price is a penny lower than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.84. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 13 cents lower at $2.70.

“Prices at the pump in our area are stable or dropping slightly, as predicted post Labor Day,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs. “But Hurricane Florence, which is bearing down on South Carolina and Virginia, will likely have an impact on East Coast gas prices this week if the storm follows its projected path.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $2.65 to a high of $3.05. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
