The Gold Star family in Mashpee that had a statue of a kneeling soldier stolen from their front yard now has a replacement statue.
The silhouette honored Marine Pfc. Dan McGuire, killed in Iraq in 2008 at the age of 19.
A member of the McGuire family posted on a social media website that a man and his fiancée showed up this past weekend after driving to Mashpee from Boston with a replacement.
Volunteers are also in the process of making a metal replacement.
