Cabbie, Pinned Under Own Cab, Then Run Over

A taxi cab driver in Falmouth was pinned under his own cab this (Monday) morning and while pinned was struck by a pickup truck.

Falmouth Police report the incident happened around 6 a.m.

The cabbie, an unidentified 80 year old from East Falmouth, was attempting to stop his cab from rolling away in the vicinity of 352 Sippewissett Road when he slipped and became partially trapped under the cab. At that time, another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction then drove over his legs.

Falmouth Police say the second vehicle is described as a dark colored Chevrolet Silverado pickup with possible front end damage.

The cab driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Falmouth Hospital before being taken by MedFlight helicopter to Boston Medical Center.
