Winter Returns to the Cape and Islands

With winter re-emerging over the next 36 hours, the National Weather Service has issued several advisories.

A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 4 p.m. this afternoon until 10 a.m. Tuesday morning for the Cape and Islands. The forecast is calling for total snow accumulation of 2-to-4 inches for portions of the Cape.

A wind advisory for the Cape and Islands goes into effect at 10 p.m. this evening through 7 a.m. tomorrow morning. Officials expect north winds from 20-to-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

In addition, the National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Cape and Nantucket. That goes into effect at 8 a.m. through noon on Tuesday.
