Hyannis Fire and Rescue personnel came to the aid of a man who had fallen through the floor of an abandoned building off of Main Street in Hyannis.
Just after 11 a.m. Thursday, first responders arrived on the scene to a building near 585 Main Street where a man believed to be the owner of the building had fallen about ten feet through the first floor and into the basement. He suffered a broken leg in the fall.
The dilapidated condition of the structure made it difficult for rescuers to initially get to the man. They eventually were able to reach him, put his broken leg in a splint, and use a basket and ladder to bring him to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment.
