Unique Kennedy-Themed Auction Tonight in Harwich

Fans and admirers of President John F. Kennedy, wife Jackie, and the Kennedy family have a unique opportunity tonight; they can bid to own a piece of the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port.

The Wequassett Resort in Harwich is the scene of tonight’s auction that will feature more than 30 pieces of art created by local artists with materials salvaged during a renovation and remodeling of the president’s summer home.

John Allen, the Executive Director of the JFK Hyannis Museum, says each artist had a unique approach to the task at hand.

"They all took the pieces and wrote kind of a story or a theme to what their art pieces or their furniture pieces and it ties all back to President Kennedy and his life here on the Cape."

Allen says the proceeds from tonight’s auction will benefit the JFK Hyannis Museum Foundation.

The auction runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and if you are not able to be there in person, you can take part online. Visit the JFK Hyannis Museum website for more information and to be able to view and bid on the items yourself.

The president's summer home in Hyannis Port is now owned by Ted Kennedy Jr. and his wife, Kiki.
