Route 6 Crash Results in 4 Hour Delay


A traffic accident Monday afternoon on Route 6 eastbound resulted in a fuel spill and traffic backup lasting nearly four hours.

The accident involved a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck on Route 6 between the Oak Street overpass and Exit 6. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The other driver, a 65-year old female was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries.

The right lane and the breakdown lane of Route 6 were closed until just before 5 p.m. as officials worked to clean-up the fuel spill.

Mass State Police are investigating the crash.
