A joint effort by the U.S. Coast Guard, Provincetown Harbormaster, and TowBoatUS Provincetown rescued 44 people from the breakwall near MacMillans Pier in Provincetown.

The three-and-a-half dozen people became stranded due to the astronomically high tides.

The Coast Guard was alerted to the situation by the Provincetown Fire Department around 1:45. Six of the 44 people were in the water; two had fallen in and four others went in trying to get them out.

The harbormaster and TowBoatUS crews used their boats to rescue the people because of the shallow depth of the water. They were then taken to the Coast Guard boat and brought ashore for medical treatment. All 44 were rescued with only some minor injuries reported.
