South Dennis Man Facing Weapons Charges

A South Dennis man is facing charges after his arrest Sunday on illegal weapons charges.

A state search warrant was executed at 19 Nautical Way in South Dennis as a result of an investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Cape Cod Drug Task Force, the purpose of which was to recover an illegally possessed semi-automatic AR-15 style rifle.

The State Police STOP team was deployed because of the suspected presence of the weapon. The STOP team entered the residence around 6:45 Sunday morning and found and secured three occupants without incident.

A search of the residence turned up the rifle along with several high capacity magzines and a body armor vest disguised as a man’s clothing item.

State Police arrested was Rory Haddad, 27, who was taken to the State Police barracks in South Yarmouth where he was booked and held pending arraignment. Haddad was charged with Illegal Possession of a large capacity firearm and Improper Storage of a large capacity firearm.

Also present in the house but not charged were Haddad’s girlfriend and mother.
