Coast Guard Beach in Eastham is ranked as the tenth best beach in the U.S.

Florida International University coastal scientist Stephen Leatherman, who goes by Dr. Beach, says the ratings are based on factors like sand quality, wave action, water temperature and whether there are lifeguards.

Coast Guard Beach's highest ranking came in 2017, when it was named the country's fourth best beach.

Dr. Beach ranked 650 beaches in coming up with the 2026 list with Poipu Beach, in Hawaii ranked as best in the U.S.
