Yarmouth Select Board Schedules Special Town Meeting For June 24th

The Yarmouth Select Board has scheduled a Special Town Meeting for Wednesday, June 24th.

The meeting has been called in response to a citizen petition presented to the board at its May 12th meeting.

The petition that has been signed by 272 registered voters, requests reconsideration of the article seeking authorization to borrow nearly 36-thousand-dollars for the design and construction of a new Town Library.

Under Massachusetts law, a special town meeting must be called when requested by either 200 registered voters - or 20-percent of voters and the meeting must be held within 45 days of receipt.

The meeting will take place at the Dennis-Yarmouth Intermediate Middle School.
