Bourne Bridge Road Work Completed Ahead Of Schedule

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says crews completed the Bourne Bridge road work ahead of schedule and all travel lanes are open to traffic.

The project that began on April 27th was expected to continue through May 20th, but crews finished the paving and maintenance project late Tuesday night.

Crews remained at the scene yesterday to remove cones, barrels and other traffic control devices from the shoulders and breakdown lanes.

The work included replacing the pavement surface of the bridge, repairing steel joints damaged by snowplows and performing maintenance on roadway lights and drains.
