Flanagan Motion To Dismiss Hearing Scheduled For May 12th

A May 12th hearing has been set following a defense request to dismiss a false records charge against State Representative Chris Flanagan.

An attorney for the Democratic lawmaker recently filed a motion to drop the charge since it falls under state and not federal jurisdiction.

Chief U.S. District Judge Denise Casper has asked both sides to be ready to discuss a trial date during the hearing.

Flanagan has pleaded not guilty on six charges, including five counts of wire fraud related to the alleged use of 36-thousand-dollars of his former employer's money for personal and campaign expenses.
