Several Cape Cod Towns are receiving Firefighter Safety Equipment Grants from the Healey-Driscoll administration. It's part of a five-million-dollar program that helps departments replace and upgrade their gear.
State Representative Steve Xiarhos says the COMM Fire District will get around 19-thousand-dollars, and the West Barnstable Fire District has been awarded just over 12-thousand-dollars.
The Town of Bourne is receiving more that 16-thousand-dollars and the Town of Sandwich is getting more than 94-hundred-dollars.
The grants will fund new protective gear, thermal imaging cameras, hazardous gas detectors and other lifesaving equipment.
