CT Man Arraigned For Wrong-Way Pursuit, Drugs

A Connecticut man is being held without bond following his arraignment this morning in Barnstable District Court.

William Gehring was arrested Saturday afternoon after he sped away from an attempted traffic stop on Cotuit Road near Route 130 in Sandwich when he began travelling on the wrong side of the road.

The police pursuit was called off due to dangerous circumstances and the 46-year-old later wrecked at the corner of Southpoint Drive and Farmersville Road.

He was hit with several traffic violations but was also found with quantities of fentanyl, cocaine and meth.
