A pair of trash haulers are in a bit of a dispute with the Town of Chatham.
Commercial waste haulers are now required to sign affidavits certifying that all the trash they're dumping at the transfer station comes from within Chatham's boundaries.
An odor issue over the summer prompted the tighter enforcement of a regulation that's been on the books for nearly 20 years, but Milley Trucking and Nickerson Inc. say they have clients just outside of town that make up about five percent of the loads they dump in Chatham.
The companies are now seeking a waiver to continue the practice, so they don't have to lose their clients.
