An effort to provide safe access is complete and Longnook Beach in Truro is back open to the public.
The picturesque beach was shut down last year, including during the summer, due to collapses caused by erosion of its steep coastal bank.
Town leaders determined back in the fall that the best shot at getting the beach open for the 2025 summer season was to score special permits from the Cape Cod National Seashore and Truro Conservation Commission to establish a longer pathway that doesn't go straight down to the beach.
