Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Chief Byron Eldridge is retiring after 48-years of service.
Eldridge began his career in Wareham in 1977 at the age of 17 and worked at several Fire Departments over the years rising in rank from firefighter to captain, deputy fire chief and Fire Chief.
A formal Change of Command Ceremony will take place this Friday, February 28th at COMM Headquarters on Falmouth Road in Centerville.
