An Island physician has been fined 15 hundred dollars by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine.

In a recent consent order, the board sanctioned Dr. Lisa Nagy, a practitioner of environmental health and the owner of Environmental Health Center, located in West Tisbury.

The board ruled that Nagy failed to register for the state's Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, known as MassPAT until 2023, and prescribed the anti-anxiety drug benzodiazepine to a patient without conducting a required check.

Nagy also falsely advertised she was board-certified in Emergency Medicine and stated this on her license renewal application.

In addition to the fine, Nagy was ordered to complete a medication education program and change her documentation and website to reflect her status.
