State Representative Steven Xiarhos is going to bat for some Cape veterans being evicted from Liberty Lodge in Sandwich.
The Barnstable Republican is soliciting help from local and state agencies to find them new places to live.
The former motel has been an affordable housing option for veterans ever since the current owner bought the property two years ago.
However, he doesn't have the resources to bring the property up to code for transitional housing, which means nobody can live there long term. Residents have to be out by September 1st.
