The first of two public meetings on Avangrid's plan to build a pair of offshore wind farms is on tap for later today.
It's being held from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Centerville Library.
The energy company will discuss plans for its Park City Wind project, which will bring turbines to points 20 to 25 miles off the coast of Martha's Vineyard's southern shores.
The energy they produce will be earmarked for customers in Connecticut.
Construction will require cables to be run beneath the parking lot for Craigville Beach.
The public meeting for Avangrid's other wind farm proposal impacting Osterville will be held online June 22nd.
